Is This Spot Taken?

Many people in the Adelaide Mount Lofty Ranges (AMLR) catchments don't realise that there are water monitoring sites along their local creeks, rivers and in wetlands, dams and drains. Have a look at your closest Waterwatch monitoring site, or look at the latest monitoring results. If you'd like to become involved in the Snapshots program, here are some things to think about when choosing a monitoring site.

    * Can you commit to monitoring at least four times in a year?
    * Are there areas at the site where you can stand and safely reach the water at all times of the year?
    * How close are the nearest monitoring sites upstream and downstream?
    * Is your site representative of the waterway in your area?
    * If the site is on private property, do you have permission to enter?
    * Are there any stormwater pipes, factory outlets or other pollution sources nearby that you could sample upstream and downstream of?
